38.hrs/week
7:30-15:30 Monday to Thursday (30mins lunch break, 12:00-12:30)
7:30-14:30 Friday

Homeworking:

Manager discretion- eligible after a sucessful 6 months probation.

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £130M and over 700 staff.

Responsible for the team that plans and expedites production across the site at Roxel. Using the MRP system (Tropos), the team analyses and releases works orders and ensures that kitted parts are released and available. The team also manages any concerns impacting the production schedule including expediting parts shortages, expediting the clearance of None Conformance Forms (NCFs) and ensuring the availability of Production Permits (PPs) and other documentation to support. This requires the ability to liaise with and gain the support of departments across the business

As part of the supply chain management team, the Production Planning Team Leader will support the development and effectivity of the supply chain process from parts supply to finished goods despatch On Time and In Full (OTIF).

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of the Production Planning Team Leader  include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Analyse MRP output, create production schedules and prioritise Works orders for production optimisation.
  • Ensure that production plans for all products across the site are aligned to achieve final product OTIF
  • Ensure that all parts and materials are available to support works orders
  • Maintain production planning parameters in the MRP system to support effective planning.
  • Identify and address any potential issues to ensure the achievement of production schedules. This includes expediting documentation and ensuring the engagement of other departments as required.
  • Develop production planning processes and procedures by adopting a continuous improvement approach, analysing the causes of concerns and developing countermeasures to root causes
  • Develop relationships with production and support departments to ensure that information is available to support the effective management of the business, reporting KPIs etc.
  • Support the development of the supply chain process and ensure that it is integrated, effective and capable of supporting business requirements.
  • Provide guidance, training and coaching to Team Members.
  • Manage and motivate the team including carrying out Annual and Interim PDRs, Return to Work Interviews and supporting performance management as required
  • Update and maintain procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with certifications (including EN9100 etc) and HSE.
  • Ensure the accuracy of system data and take an active role in auditing our processes.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and projects as required by the business.

Skills/ Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • CIPS Level 4 / Relevent HNC
  • Have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
  • A very strong proven experience of using and developing planning solutions including the use of MRP2. Previous experience working with TROPOS would be an advantage
